Fire Alarm Safety Inspection
Six Monthly Fire Alarm Maintenance
in April and October
As you may already be aware we take the maintenance of the Fire Alarm in the property very seriously. Therefore as well as Monthly testing it is also fully serviced and tested in the months of April and October.
The tests are carried out as usual by our contractors, who are also our personal friends; Mike & Peter Wooding.
The date of testing this time is Monday 10th October.
This testing is a mandatory legal requirement that, despite the COVID-19 pandemic has not been suspended or altered by the Government.
Therefore, the work must be conducted in a manner that keeps both the Tenants and the Workers safe.
Social distancing must be maintained at all times and under no circumstances must tenants or workers come within 2 metres of each other.
It would be helpful if you could indicate, on the form at the bottom of this page, whether at the time of testing you will
- Definitely be in the premises;
- Definitely NOT be in the premises; or
- Possibly be in the premises.
On the day, if someone is present, or might be present, in the premises, Mike will knock on the door and step back to maintain social distancing.
He will then ask two questions:
1. Are you or anybody in the property self-isolating as a result of a positive test, whilst awaiting a test result, or as a consequence of a notice from the NHS COVID App, or the Track and Trace Team, or similar?
2. Are you or anybody in the property currently displaying symptoms compatible with those of COVID-19?
If the answer to either of those questions is yes, he will be unable to
complete the testing and will need to liaise with the individual tenant to
return to test the equipment in the flat once their isolation period has
ended.
If both questions are answered negatively, the detector(s) and each
sounder will be tested to ensure they are working correctly.
If you are present you will then be informed that the tests are concluded
In your flat. They will then leave, closing the main door behind them.
You can then lock the door, or Mike will lock it if no-one is present.
Please be assured that they do not need to, nor will they, touch anything in the flat whilst testing the equipment.
Additionally, regardless of whether or not anyone is present in the
dwelling, anybody that enters the flat will be wearing an FFP3 / N99 grade
mask (current NHS guidelines stipulate FFP3 face masks for virus and
bacterial infection control when the contagion is spread through coughing
and sneezing, such as with coronavirus) plus disposable gloves and
disposable overshoes which are changed for every dwelling.
Although these Covid 19 protocols are no longer mandatory, we are continuing to use them to provide maximum peace of mind to both you and them.
As usual, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our contractor Mike Wooding by text, call or WhatsApp.
